The Opportunity Card suits people whose points alone wouldn't win an Express Entry invitation, but who have a solid qualification and are willing to job-hunt in-country. You score points for qualifications, experience, language (German or English), and age — enough points gets you a visa to enter and look for work for up to a year.
- You get: the right to be in Germany and find a job, then convert to a work visa and, over time, permanent residency.
- It asks for: a recognised qualification (checked against the anabin database), some funds to support yourself while job-hunting, and ideally some German.
- The bonus: Germany often charges no university tuition, and it's the largest economy in Europe with deep demand for engineers, IT, and healthcare workers.
